Please join Brett Dorron and Kylie Alexandra De Costa at this exclusive art nude photography workshop which sees Brett Dorron openly share a number of his most valuable and intimate approaches to photographing and working with nude figures in and out of the studio. Learn how to light, pose and communicate with your models. How to put them at ease. Then take the opportunity to practice these techniques photographing a nude, one-on-one, in the studio under Brett’s creative direction.
The Mission Statement for this workshop is: “To ignite the passion for creative art-nude photography in participants, and to arm them with the knowledge and confidence to approach and shoot their own art nudes.”
Our fantastic model for the day is the beautiful Kylie Alexandra De Costa.
If you’re new to shooting with a nude, or struggle with the confidence needed, or just want to know first-hand what it’s like to shoot with a nude, then this workshop really is for you.We start with the basics and guide you through each step of sourcing, contacting, and preparing a model, experienced or not. We discuss what to say and do, and what not to do. We demystify, naturalise and humanise the nude to take away your fear. Brett Dorron’s interest in photography was first stirred by a school project at the age of ten, but it wasn’t till his mid twenties while inadvertently studying for an Associate Diploma in Applied Photography, that he realised the attraction photography could hold for him. He got a start working as a Press photographer in the 1980’s and 90’s before moving full-time into portrait, wedding, commercial and advertising photography. Brett says “Doing Press work and weddings, you develop skills to handle situations rapidly and get the reactions you want from people. Now, I want to work with a few people over time, to establish a deeper, more legitimate exchange.” Click to read more about Brett here.
This workshop is revamped since its origins at FotoFreo in 2010 and has since been presented nationally and internationally. It now spans four hours and covers more information in greater depth, plus, you get more one-on-one shooting time with our model. The Mission Statement for this workshop is: “To ignite the passion for creative art-nude photography in participants, and to arm them with the knowledge and confidence to approach and shoot their own art nudes.”
